Values & Philosophy

Our purpose together is to clarify the life you want to live. I will help you realize your strengths, identify limitations, and discover realistic solutions that will improve your daily functioning. Together, we will explore your values, beliefs, desires, sense of purpose, and interests on an individual, relational, cultural, and occupational level. Lasting change begins with increased self-awareness.

Rather than viewing you in isolation, my therapeutic lens compels me to view you in the context of your family, friends, co-workers, and other close relationships that support or challenge you. The theoretical models I utilize are rooted in the belief that problems are the shared responsibility of all members of a family or relationship system; therefore, issues do not result from one person’s actions and behaviors.

I am interested in your use of language and the story you tell of your life. I aim to collaborate with you as we create goal planning strategies that will lead you in the direction of your preferred future. Societal expectations often contradict the reality of our lives and attempts to live up to social expectations usually contribute to the stress and complications we experience. We will survey multiple perspectives regarding your life’s narrative as you reconstruct your story based on your strengths and your truth. Healing and growth begin with increased self-awareness.
