Part-Time Trainer/Consultant

Part-Time Trainer/Consultant

We are always accepting applications for individuals committed to the mission and principles of Live Oak who are also interested in providing training and consultation to other professionals. Ideal candidates will have a graduate degree in a related field (social work, counseling, human development, family therapy, art therapy, music therapy, recreation therapy, etc.) and at least five years postgraduate experience. At least two years experience in a supervisory/administrative role is also required. Ideal candidates will also have extensive experience in public speaking with exceptional oral and written communication skills.

Prospective trainers/consultants should have expertise in at least three of the following: clinical work with individuals/couples/families/groups, program development, supervision and the supervisory relationship, organizational development, board development, cultural competence, conflict management and conflict resolution, trauma and violence, LGBTQ individuals and families, HIV/AIDS, and/or grief and loss.

Payment for part-time trainers/consultants is based on years of relevant experience and the number of training/consultation hours worked per month. Part-time trainers/consultants may attend any Live Oak sponsored training at no cost.

Minimum Qualifications
  1. Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  2. Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Art Therapy, Dance/Movement Therapy or Master’s degree in related field and RYT or CYT credential
  3. Clinical Licensure as LCSW, LMFT, LCPC or Licensed Clinical Psychologist and three years experience post-clinical license. Please note: We will consider individuals with significant life experience and/or people who are career changers as a substitute for clinical licensure/three years experience, provided the person can obtain an LSW, LPC, AMFT within 90 days of beginning employment.
  4. Experience conducting workshops for professionals and paraprofessionals.
  5. Excellent oral and written communication skills
Desirable Qualifications
  1. Demonstrated expertise in at least three of the following areas: LGBTQ populations, trauma and violence, creative/expressive therapies, multicultural/multisystemic work, EMDR, sex therapy, addictions, or DBT/mindfulness/ACT
  2. Advanced groupwork experience
  3. Prior supervision experience of graduate interns
Responsibilities
  1. To provide individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy (minimum of 22-24 contact hours weekly)
  2. To conduct community workshops on selected topics relevant to and consistent with the practice philosophy of Live Oak, Inc. and identified expertise of the psychotherapist
  3. To attend select training events provided by the directors or other contractual employees of Live Oak, Inc.
  4. To engage in public relations and marketing activities aimed at increasing the visibility, recognition, and referral base of Live Oak, Inc.
  5. To attend all designated staff and supervision meetings.
  6. To complete designated paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  7. To perform other duties as assigned.

One Year Affiliate Professionals Program for Clinically Licensed Psychotherapists

Program Overview

Live Oak’s Affiliate Professionals Program (APP) provides professionals with a clinical license an opportunity to develop and strengthen psychotherapy skills. This one year program is specifically designed for professionals who work in an agency setting and are thinking about the possibility of private practice and/or individuals who are working in an agency setting in a non-clinical role, or a role in which they would like additional clinical training and supervision.

While the APP provides a broad range of clinical training opportunities, it is specifically structured for individuals looking for advanced clinical training and supervision in the areas of: Affirmative Practice with the LGBTQ community, Trauma Informed Practice, Multisystemic & Multicultural Practice, and Creative, Expressive & Body-Centered Therapies.

Qualifications

  • Full Clinical Licensure (LMFT, LCPC, LCSW or Licensed Clinical Psychologist) or completion of our Fellowship Program

  • Ability to function independently

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Flexible schedule in order to complete responsibilities listed here

Affiliates are provided with the following:
  • Weekly individual supervision (1 hour)

  • Referrals, office space, marketing & support on caseload development

  • Opportunities to practice systemically focused psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups

  • Payment at an hourly rate for all clinical work

Expectations of Affiliates include:
  • Average of 5-10 hours/week on site at Live Oak

  • Maintain a caseload of clients including individual, couples, families, and/or groups

  • Participation in weekly individual supervision

  • Potential for group consultation given other Affiliates availability

  • Documentation in client file, billing, and insurance management
