nlahiriPhilosophy and Values
I believe that everyone has the ability to comfort and heal their own wounds, and that therapy can have a profound impact on a person's ability to find, recognize and remember their own strength. I see myself as a facilitator and catalyst for clients to come in to their own power.

I find that our life experiences and identities can provide us our biggest sources of strength and insight. However, in moments of crisis or stress, these things can feel like a burden. I feel that the therapeutic relationship can empower clients to reclaim their complex histories and experiences in an environment that is safe, healthy and productive.

Training and Experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Illinois. I have 5+ years of experience in providing services to individuals, families, and groups in community based organizations and institutions.

I received my Masters Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Child, Youth and Family Services from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I received my Bachelors of Arts and Bachelor of Social Work Degrees from University of Missouri-Columbia.

Areas of Interest
I enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds, all genders and age groups. I have experience working with the following populations:
-survivors of trauma
-queer women
-trans and gender nonconforming individuals
-religious minorities.

I enjoy using a feminist model for therapy, with a trauma-informed and strengths based approach.
