As the child of a West African immigrant, the child of an interracial couple, and a Black woman living in predominantly white spaces inform my therapy practice of bringing together different identities while processing racial and familial trauma. I have experience working with individuals who have experienced the collective trauma of being a person of color in the United States and the stigma of receiving mental health services. I primarily work with cognitive behavioral methods but prioritize the relationship we build and how to help your individual journey. Building a safe and open relationship will be the priority in our sessions, as healing is better facilitated when we feel safe and comfortable. I am interested in processing questions of identity and processing individual, relational, and familial trauma.
I believe it is important to hold the nuance and complexities of our stories. Systemic barriers impact how we’re able to tell our stories and as a therapist, I provide a safe space for you to process and embody the lessons from your life experiences. As the expert in your story, I will provide a safe place to build a trusting and collaborative
relationship to create and reach your goals.
