Values & Philosophy

I am a relational queer-focused therapist who works with kids, teens, adults, and couples with complex trauma related to identity and relationship abuse. Complex trauma presents itself in forms of dissociation, suicidal ideation, self-harm, anxiety, depression, feelings of low self-worth/esteem, or issues activated by life transitions and interpersonal relationships. It can feel isolating to navigate the hard parts of life without feeling seen. Hearing your story while facilitating a space for you to be valued and challenged to live into your values is my goal. I prioritize connection in the process of healing and discovering yourself. We’ll approach our work holistically, affirming the connections between your body, mental health, and the systems that shape our lives.

As a transwoman from a small red state town, my path to self-affirmation mirrors the experiences of many in the queer community. My background strongly influences my commitment to addressing oppressive systems while embracing an intersectional, anti-racist, and feminist framework to compassionately guide our work together. I actively challenge oppressive clinical standards, like pathologizing, in my practice so I can create a chill space that aligns with my values while upholding and pursuing accountability and self-growth.

I love meeting people where they’re at to help them understand, connect, and heal the wounded parts of their story. I use evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches to guide our work together. I am formally trained in EMDR and incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS or Parts Work), Psychodynamic, and Somatic-informed interventions while leaning on my background in community mental health and crisis counseling. Additionally, I invite art practices in session to encourage emotional expression, regulation, and as a tool to reconnect with ourselves. I believe healing happens in relationships, and I hope that therapy becomes a place where you feel a genuine sense of belonging.
