kenya300 260My approach to therapy is holistic. Through this approach, I affirm the idea that the mind, body, and spirit are equally connected to one’s overall health. Additionally, I focus on the needs and strengths of my clients through a strength-based and client centered framework. When engaging my clients, I look to obtain a clear understanding of their needs and beliefs and then work in collaboration with clients to establish meaningful goals. Because I feel that emotional safety is an important aspect of therapy, I strive to create an environment where clients are able comfortably express their thoughts and emotions. Since diversity is also fostered in my practice, I offer integrative interventions that take into account the uniqueness of my clients. By providing a therapeutic environment such as this, I feel that my clients will be better able to organically grow in their awareness of and healing of self.
Training and Experience

I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Following my undergraduate education, I worked in numerous areas of social service before returning to school to pursue a Master’s degree. I received my Masters of Arts in Clinical Counseling Psychology in 2010 from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. After graduating, I worked for several years as a school-based clinician in various elementary and high schools on Chicago’s Southside, Westside, and Northside. Additionally, I worked as a Supervising Therapist for an Early Childhood Intervention Program in collaboration with the Institute for Juvenile Research (IJR) at University of Illinois and a Staff Therapist for the Chicago Public Schools Student Outreach and Reengagement Department. Through my experiences, I have come to realize that a diversified lens is necessary in my work. My experiences have driven my desire to be more innovative in my approach and communication with clients. I am committed to helping all individuals recognize the importance of mental health services.
