Living in the world as a LGBTQIA+ person is complicated and can come with many experiences of being shoved to the outskirts in a range of environments. We frequently experience loss of connection with family and face ostracization at work or at school. All of these experiences of minority stress contribute to complex trauma and can lead to chronic struggles with dysregulation and difficulties coping in day to day life.

We are two queer therapists who seek to build a space that takes into consideration the unique needs of our community.  We are neurodiversity informed, anti-carceral, and empowerment focused clinicians with years of experience in DBT and in integrating coping skills while acknowledging the reality and rationality of responding to harm with fear or anger.

LTBNB will be a 12 week psychoeducational skills group pulling primarily from Marsha Linehan’s 2nd Ed. DBT SKills Workbook. We will move through a structured curriculum that familiarizes participants with the various modules of DBT, including skills related to Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotional Regulation, and Distress Tolerance. Copies of all materials will be provided to the group members by Live Oak.

To register fill out this registration form. One of the facilitators will schedule a short meeting with you to answer questions and assess fit.
