Values & Philosophy

My practice is geared toward people who often feel misunderstood, alienated, or detached from prescribed social or cultural “norms.” I recognize that many of us experience incongruity or tension between different parts of our identity and respect the necessary role that cultural code-switching can play in our lives. As a queer, multi-racial person, I am drawn to working with queer and trans people and/or folks of color.

I am attuned to each client’s circumstances and also believe that common experiences often exist between those who share similar social, economic, political, and/or cultural contexts. My work is anchored in curiosity. I aspire to create a space where we can ask each other clarifying questions when we have not achieved understanding. I will center your pacing and your desire for my reflections in our process.

I work with individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and interpersonal issues. I also work with couples and partners across various relationship structures. My therapeutic style is integrative, with a focus in humanistic therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and internal family systems.
