Values & Philosophy

I believe in therapy as a space for exploration and discovery of the narratives we wish to protect and those we wish to discard as we write the story of our life. This requires vulnerability and honesty which we will co-create over time. As an invitation for you to build this trust in the space, I strive to show up as my most authentic self. This includes bringing my intersecting identities as an immigrant, queer, Latina, theater-maker.

As your therapist, I seek to create a space of constant curiosity, patience, and collaboration where we can rewrite your stories and move towards your most empowered self. I use humor, challenge your perspectives, and continually make space for your feedback to build a practice that meets your unique needs. I see this collaboration as an aspect of anti-racist, queer affirmative, and client-centered therapeutic practice.

Ultimately, you are the expert in your life and have the strength within you to heal and grow. My work is to shine a light on you as the writer of your own story and help you to identify the important characters, themes, and conflicts in your life. We will work to build each chapter on the lessons that came from the ones before. I believe this work can be done alongside the important people in your life. I am able to offer that through relationship therapy (partners, families, friendships, etc). If this approach resonates with you, please reach out to me or the intake team.
